Beauty Retouching: Learning the Process
In this Photoshop class Karl starts work on a second beauty retouch. He’ll be building on the tools and techniques covered in the previous classes as well as elaborating on them and covering new skills.
This class shows you how to use Hue/Saturation adjustments to change or enhance elements of an image. Using his layer masks, Karl explains how to change the background color, a technique that can be applied in various forms to many different images.

Hi Karl. Appreciate your reply. Think I’m a bit tutorialed out with your great site. So I will try to be more clear.
The “after” shot in “before and after segment” at 45sec has less “blue green” in the model’s hair circumference (can’t think of another word) than it does at the end of your tutorial at 10.13 and 12.41. I know it’s still work in progress at this point but does this mean that I would just press on with the Paint Brush tool to get rid of the blue green effect totally ?

Hi Andy, yes exactly correct on this class it was run a little quicker and less precisely than on the original retouch for the benefit of speed but essentially if you were to work your mask with a brush more zoomed in on the detail and also use the brush back and forth from black to white paint or on some areas where the green on the hair would be too strong you can then run the brush on 50% opacity to reduce the amount of green coming through. We do have other classes in the post production section that take longer and are concluded more precisely than this one.

Hi Karl and team. Excellent series. Loving it. I am very interested in hair retouching and after watching this tutorial I see that your “finished” image at the beginning of the tutorial had no green “backlight” effect on the edge of the model’s hairline/circumference as does with the last image of the girl at the end of the tutorial. I know it’s not totally right but how to rid of the final green tinge (ever so small) so as to match the first finished image?
