In this short video Karl demonstrates the usefulness of camera monopods and tripods. What do you think about monopods – do you use them and how do you think they compare to the traditional tripod?

  1. I started using a monopod while I was shooting baseball. A really helpful piece of equipment which made those long doubleheader days a lot more comfortable.
Now, as an older shooter, I find the monopod is helpful even shooting landscape. Image stabilization is fine, but I prefer leaving it “off” (I’m shooting with an older Oly with the I.S. in the body).
The monopod lets me shoot a little slower when I want a higher F setting.
Thanks, again, for this great program.
