'Green' Competition Winners

Here are the winners of our 2022 'Green' photography competition.

Once again, we were thrilled to receive so many high-quality images. With dozens of strong contenders, picking a winner was by no means easy.

After much debate, we selected three winners and four honourable mentions.

CONGRATULATIONS to our prizewinners and THANK YOU to everyone who entered!

First-prize winner Pete Harper will receive an Apple Watch plus bonus strap. Second prize, a LEE Filters Big Stopper, goes to runner-up Charalampos Papadopoulos. In third place, Andrei Duman wins a Karl Taylor Technical Lighting Pack.

Pete Harper

Beautifully composed and exquisitely lit, Pete’s stunning still-life homage to the Old Masters draws and holds our attention with its many interesting details and textures. Congratulations, Pete!

2nd Prize

Lee FIlters Big Stopper Prize

Charalampos Papadopoulos

In Charalampos’s moody, atmospheric image, the gleaming green car functions as the clear hero of the shot. The creative use of colour, movement, light and shadow made this a tough entry to beat. Great job, Charalampos!

3rd Prize

Lee FIlters Lighting Gels Technical Pack Prize

Andrei Duman

Andrei’s classic combination of splash and bottle photography impressed us with its energy and vibrancy, as well as with its technical complexity and attention to detail. It also made us thirsty for a cocktail – mission accomplished, Andrei!

Highly Commended

Shyjith Onden Cheriyath

A pleasing snapshot of a kayaker on the water, captured from the air.

Image

Mark Gilchrist

A well-executed bottle shot, expertly lit and right on theme.

Image

Linda Hunting

An alluring and otherworldly piece of macro photography, filled with interesting lines and shapes.

Image

Nick Paschalis

A delightfully creative (and potentially quite terrifying!) take on food photography that ensures we’ll never see fruit and vegetables in quite the same again.

Image

Nicolas de Caritat

A fantastic interpretation of the 'Green' theme, this striking CGI render won us over but was ineligible for a prize in this particular competition, which was specifically for photography.

Would you like the chance to win?

  1. Wow, thanks to all the team for the great comments on my ” golfy” submission.

I’ ve skipped the point on photography only, but I’m very glad you’ve still hilighted my image.

Have a nice Sunday and see you soon for another challenge 🙂

  2. Thank you, fair point yes that’s another way of looking at it. Something to think about when I enter next time. Second place is a good result too so well done.

  3. Wow, second prize winner is a bit of a mystery. Green being the theme most of that image is blue.

    1. Hey John, thank you for your reply and your critique. I think I get to know what you are about to say. The theme was green – but it doesnt have to mean that most of the image has to be green. The hero of the shot is the green car, the use of another colors is a symbiosis to get the attention to the green car. But not only the colors give the green car the attention it needs – there are straight lines which give the car some attention. Its like an RGB-Image, but the hero of this shot is the green car. I hope you will understand. I am very happy and thankful for the second prize and hope i will see soon one of your images here John. Have a nice day buddy.
