Colourful Portraiture

From colourful clothes to bright backgrounds or gelled lights, there are many different ways you can incorporate colour in portraiture, and this week we’re challenging you to see how you introduce colour in your images.

Colour is a powerful compositional element that many people don’t fully utilise. So this week, why not push yourself and see how you can use colour thoughtfully, and perhaps a little differently to how you usually would. After all, it’s not a ‘challenge’ for nothing...

Will you choose juxtaposing colours, or matching hues? Strong, bold tones, or lighter pastel shades? Will you use lighting to add that pop of colour, or will you stick to simpler lighting with a brighter outfit and background?

We can’t wait to see what you come up with, but if you need some ideas or inspiration, you’ll find plenty of Visual Education classes to help.
